Without wasting time, advisors who have close ties to Kamala Harris have started contacting billionaires including United States (US) billionaire Mark Cuban in seeking clarification on cryptocurrency policy.
Cuban said that he doesn't know of any other industry leaders who still receive inquiries about crypto and this suggests Kamala Harris may be a strong advocate for the emerging tech sector.
The development comes less than 48 hours into Kamala Harris's campaign and her position as the Democratic nominee has strengthened just after Joe Biden announced last Sunday that he would not run for re-election.
But it is still unclear how exactly Kamala Harris will plan to govern when it comes to crypto as she has never publicly shared her opinion on the sector.
Even so, optimistic crypto market advocates have argued that Harris could give a breakthrough to some kind of bipartisan consensus to create a regulatory framework for digital assets.
In the last two days, the Digital Chamber of Commerce, a crypto lobby group, sent a letter to Harris asking him to embrace the digital asset industry and choose a pro-crypto partner.
This is because there is a general perception that the party has a negative view of digital assets, which is largely due to the Biden or Harris Administration being very cautious and sometimes hostile to transformative technology.
